Let's Get Some Socks Out to Those in Need this Winter. $2.49 Makes It Happen.
More than 6,500 people are living on the streets of Atlanta this year. While they have decent access to food and larger items of clothing, most of them can't get one of the most basic of basics - new, warm socks.
That's because socks are one of the least-donated items to homeless shelters. For 2017, FUEL ATL wants to help change that. We've set a goal of delivering at least 500 pairs of socks to the homeless in Atlanta this winter, and we need your help to do it.
So, for every subscription we sell in 2017, we'll donate a new pair of warm socks to the homeless.
We've partnered with an awesome sock manufacturer - Catawba Sox - who has generously agreed to make 500 pairs of warm, high-quality socks available for this drive.
These socks are nice - they're valued at $3.99 per pair. So you'll be giving a very nice gift to someone when you subscribe!
Since January 20, we've been heading downtown with our socks on the weekends and delivering them to Atlanta's missions, shelters and clinics that distribute clothing to the homeless. So far, we've delivered more than 80 pair.
